Pakistan need 103 runs to whitewash Bangladesh


DHAKA: Pakistan need 103 runs to win the second Test and make clean sweep in the two-match Test series after they bowled out Bangladesh for 234 runs an hour after lunch break on the fifth and final day here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium Wednesday.

Earlier, all-rounder Nasir Hossain and captain Mushfiqur Rahim provided a great fight back with a valuable 117-run sixth wicket partnership.

They helped Bangladesh avoid an innings defeat when score reached 132 after the two batsmen resumed the second innings at 114-5 in a delayed start due to fog this morning

But their partnership was broken by left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman after the break when he clean bowled Nasir for 79 and a while later he dismissed Mushfiqur for 53.

Later, Rehman and off-break bowler Saeed Ajmal wiped out the tail as the hosts innings was folded an hour after lunch.

Abdulr Rehman finished with four for 51 and Saeed Ajmal grabbed two for 55. Pace bowlers Umar Gul and Aizaz Cheema also claimed two wickets each.

Pakistan made 470 in their first innings in reply to Bangladesh's 338.

Pakistan lead 1-0 in the series after winning the first Test in Chittagong by an innings and 184 runs.
