ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar and Speaker National Assembly Fahmida Mirza on Thursday condemned the threats conveyed to senior Geo News anchor Hamid Mir.
NA Speaker ordered to form a committee to investigate into the matter.
Reporters staged a token walk out during NA session today to mark their protest against the threats to Hamid Mir.
On the occasion, Interior Minister Rehman Malik assured that investigation would be conducted into the matter.
Opposition leader in NA Chaudhry Nisar said he had also received similar threats and an investigation revealed that they were coming from people in intelligence agencies.
Pakistan Muslim League-N leader called for providing security to Hamid Mir and his family.
