Eva Longoria on the Cover of Pageantry Magazine!

Eva Longoria is gorgeous on the cover of Pageantry Magazine available on newstands now. She is featured in an article about "positive, A-list, superstar role models". The criteria they used to pick this role model was that the woman had to have a current A-list career profile, an unblemished media record, a connection to the pageant, talent, and modeling industry and a serious and real commitment to public service and philanthropy. When the magazine looked at all these things one name came to mind, the wonderful and engaging Eva Longoria! She has used her celebrity and walks on the red carpet to benefit charitable causes such as women’s health issues or Hispanic advancement in our society. Her own charity Eva’s Heroes holds an annual fund-raiser in her home town in Texas which benefits children with special needs. She is the national spokesperson for women’s and Latino children’s cancer organizations, appeared in Public Service Announcements to raise awareness and money for ovarian cancer and was in a campaign sponsored by the Callaway Golf Foundation in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation to educate people about cancer and what they can do to help themselves.

Eva is most recognized for her role as the beautiful and well dressed Gabrielle Solis on the award winning Desperate Housewives on ABC (now in its fourth season). Eva competed at IMTA in 1998 after earning her undergraduate degree. She shared these thoughts with the magazine: “It was intense,...so much competition. It just feels great. You kind of thrive on it and everybody else.” 38 agencies and managers expressed interest in Eva following her IMTA appearances. She decided to try acting and signed with a manager she had met at the convention. “The first day they signed me I had four auditions...It was pretty fast.” She quickly moved to Los Angeles and landed guest-starring roles on Beverly Hills 90210, General Hospital, and The Bold and the Beautiful. She went on to play the role of Isabella on the popular daytime series The Young and the Restless. In 2003, she took a role as a detective in a TV remake LA Dragnet and made her big-screen film debut in Carlita’s Secret, and starred in the films Harsh Times, and The Sentinel. Eva has been named one of AOL's sexist Prime time TV stars, one of People's "50 Most Beautiful", the "#1 Hottest Woman in the World" by Maxim, voted by Variety as one of the "Ten New Faces to Watch", one of Rolling Stone's "People of the Year," USA Today's "TV's Hot 11" and TV Guide's "New Faces of Fall." She has an exclusive worldwide contract as the face of L'Oreal and is the spokeswoman for Bebe apparel.

Congratulations Eva! You are an amazing star and positive role model!!!
