Two IMTA alumni in Legally Blondes!




IMTA alumni Brittany Curran and Kunal Sharma star in Legally Blondes which premieres Sunday, August 2nd on ABC Family! Brittany plays Tiffany, the prettiest, most popular and feared girl at Pacific Prep school. When twins Izzy and Annie who are Elle Wood's (Reese Witherspoon from Legally Blonde) cousins show up, the competition gets fierce! Kunal plays the brainy and loyal friend, Vivek! This marks the second time Brittany and Kunal have worked together on a movie!


Brittany recently guest starred as Kristy Marks on Ghost Whisperer. She is also starring in a new dramedy called Men of a Certain Age! The show will be airing on TNT and Brittany plays a series regular, Lucy, Ray Romano's daughter. Brittany played the lead role of Shelby, one of Ezra’s (Lucas Grabeel) close friends in The Adventures of Food Boy co- starring with Kunal! She has had recurring guest roles on The Suite Life of Zach and Cody and Drake and Josh. Brittany starred in the Universal release The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It with Emily Osment and Cody Linsley which was released last year. In the movie Diamond Dog Caper, Brittany plays the main character's self-involved older sister Lilly.

Kunal competed at IMTA Los Angeles in 2004, when he was sixteen years old. Kunal guest-starred on many popular TV shows such Phil of the Future, The Office, Veronica Mars, Crossing Jordan and Hannah Montana. He recently completed production for Frank the Rat and Sacred Journey. He is in production on the feature film The Kids Are All Right starring as Jai. It's a comedy starring Annette Benning, Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo scheduled for release in 2010!

Callback Day at IMTA!


Today has been an amazing day and it's really only beginning! The IMTA Models and Talent received their callback lists this morning, which detailed the agents, managers and casting directors who requested to see them. Then, it was a day of meetings where connections were made, contracts offered and modeling and talent careers began!

Michaela from Elite taping her announcement about selecting an IMTA Model to represent the United States in the Elite Model Look International.

Michaela Goddard-Quesada, the International Director of Scouting from Elite Worldwide, announced that one model would be chosen from the New York, 2009 IMTA to represent the United States for the Elite Model Look International which will be held in China this October! She said she chose IMTA because it is the best modeling showcase!

Now, we are off for the Talent Showcase! The finalists in the Singing and Dancing Competitions will be performing in front of agents, record labels and talent managers. Then, it's time for Jazz It Up! Competition Winners will be announced, followed by a dance party hosted by a real New York DJ! But first, here are some more scenes from today's Callback Day!

Final Day of Competitions at IMTA!

The IMTA Designer Fashion Show and Overview

It's the third full day of Competitions at IMTA and what a way to wrap it up! The actors started off the day with I'm Ready For My Closeup Competition in the Grand Ballroom. Commercial Print and Sitcom Competitions were great as were the many wonderful Seminars and Workshops! Tony Perkins from Vision Models & Talent and Karen Lee from The Karen Lee Group presented a prestigious panel of Model Agents and Scouts who held a seminar "Preparing for Model Callbacks in the 21st Century!" Coretha Timko and Michae Harrah presented the Seminar for Actors "Preparing for Talent Callbacks!"

The Models showed the agents their beautiful figures and confidence during the IMTA Swimwear Competition. You can see our live photos from this event which were posted in real time via our Official IMTA Twitter feed! Follow IMTA for more live coverage of the week's events!

The evening culminated in the amazing Overview event. Nancy Mancuso and Mark Reynolds announced the long roster of Agencies, managers, casting directors and VIP's scouting at IMTA and it was incredible. Next up was a beautiful and elegant Fashion Show presented by Curtis Davis which was hosted by the cast of Bravo's Make Me a Supermodel! Sandhurst was adorable on stage saying that he came in second on the show but Branden (the winner) had the benefit of the IMTA experience! Then the crowd went wild for the IMTA Reel, a video that featured many of the IMTA models, actors and celebs who got their start at IMTA!

Then it was this year's participants turn to impress the agents, managers and casting directors who were there to scout and select the models and actors they want to see tomorrow during the Callback day!

Second Full Day of Competitions at IMTA!


It's the second full day of competitions here at IMTA and so much is happening, it's hard to keep up! The day started with the Fashion Print/Runway Competition. The agents who were scouting were here with pen in hand to write down the number and the scores of the beautiful models who walked the runway! At one point, the agent seating was completely full and overflow seating had to be provided!

IMTA 2000 Alum Alyson Stoner popped in between Runway Division M10 and M5 to say hello and wish this year's participants the very best of luck and told them to believe in their dreams! The kids were extremely excited that one of their favorite IMTA and Disney stars was there to wish them well!

The actors showed their talents in the closed set Entertainment Host Competition! There were seminars and workshops and in just a little while, the entire Convention participants (models, actors, singers, dancers, parents and guests) will be off for the Circle Line Sailabration to cruise around Manhattan. Bon Voyage!

The IMTA Convention is off to an amazing start!


The IMTA New York 2009 Convention has kicked off with a great start! The Contestant Orientation featured live performances and amazing guest speakers including Make Me a Supermodel's Branden Rickman! He spoke to the group and inspired them by saying,"Just a year ago, I was sitting in the same chairs you were. I competed at IMTA and caught the attention of the Bravo Network who were scouting for Make Me a Supermodel. I came to their casting and as I was leaving, I heard one of the producers say,'he's perfect for the show!' and I knew I was in!" Heather Isaacson, one of the hottest models working in fashion today also spoke to the crowd too, saying,"a year ago, I competed at IMTA and signed with Elite! Dreams come true at IMTA!"

Today's events have included Team Singing, Team Dancing and Team Fashion. Right now, the actors are performing Cold Read for the agents, managers and casting directors.

IMTA alum Moises Arias in Disney Switch Over Tonight!


IMTA alum Moises Arias is part of the Disney channels cross over event tonight! According to Disney: “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana, the crossover event of summer that intersects three hit series and superstars among kids and tweens, will be presented FRIDAY, JULY 17 (8:00 - 9:30 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The 90-minute telecast stars the casts of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck” Moises, who competed at IMTA in 2005 plays the irascible Rico on Hannah Montana!

Moises competed at IMTA in Los Angeles in 2005 with his brother Mateo. Shortly after IMTA, Moises got his break with appearances on Everybody Hates Chris and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody before landing the role of Rico on the hit show Hannah Montana! He made his feature film debut in 2006 starring in Nacho Libre opposite Jack Black. He competed at the 2008 Disney Channel Games with fellow IMTA alumni, Alyson Stoner and Kunal Sharma. He also starred in the film Hannah Montana The Movie, The Perfect Game, a baseball movie, Beethoven's Big Break and Dadnapped!

IMTA alum Tiffany Thornton's Back Stage Pass

Tiffany competed at IMTA in 2003 and was 1st runner up for Actress of the Year! She plays Tawni Hart on the Disney Channel's new hit comedy Sonny with a Chance. Check out her new "exclusive back Stage Pass" on Disney! In this video clip, Tiffany talks about a hilarious episode of Sonny with a Chance and what it is like to work on this hit show! You can even see her getting her makeup and hair styled for the show!
Tiffany is a triple threat: she can act, dance and sing! She recently recorded the theme song "Let It Go" for the Disney movie Hatching Pete with Mitchel Musso. It's a top hit on Radio Disney and plays in heavy rotation! She also starred in the Disney Channel original movie Hatching Pete! She just went to Orlando for launch of the first-ever "Disney Channel Summer At Sea" on the Disney Cruise Line! Another IMTA alum and Disney star Alyson Stoner (Camp Rock and Phineas and Ferb) will also set sail with the "Disney Channel Summer At Sea" cruise in August!

IMTA's Eva Longoria is Heineken Spokesmodel!





Eva Longoria, who competed at IMTA in 1998, is now the new famous face promoting Heineken Light Beer! She appears in a new ad for the beer giant where she is in the audience at a Spur's basketball game. This funny ad shows her comedic timing and delivery which works so well for her portrayal of Gabby Solis on Desperate Housewives!


When Eva competed at IMTA in 1998, she had 38 agents and managers interested in representing her! She signed with a manager she had met at the convention. Eva told Pageantry Magazine that, “The first day they signed me I had four auditions...It was pretty fast.” She quickly moved to Los Angeles and landed guest-starring roles on Beverly Hills 90210, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. In 2003, she took a role as a detective in a TV remake of LA Dragnet and made her big-screen film debut in Carlita’s Secret, and also starred in the films Harsh Times, and The Sentinel. Eva's is most well-known as the beautiful Gabrielle Solis on the award-winning Desperate Housewives on ABC.

IMTA's Josh Duhamel on the Cover of Men's Health Magazine!!



IMTA alum Josh Duhamel is on the cover of the current issue of Men's Health Magazine! Josh is also starring in the biggest film of the summer, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in theaters now ! Josh reprises his role as Captain Lennox in the hit sequel.

When Josh competed at IMTA in New York in 1997, he was awarded the prestigious title of Male Model of the Year! Model of the Year is awarded to the Model who has the highest composite score from the IMTA Competitions including: Runway, Jeans, TV Beauty Commercial, and Fashion Print. Josh edged out fellow competitor Ashton Kutcher to win the big prize! E!'s Model TV shot an episode featuring IMTA that year and you can see Josh and Ashton competing for yourself right here on That IMTA Blog!





After IMTA, Josh landed his first acting job playing the title character in Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray. He soon began acting on All My Children playing Leo du Pres which won him a Daytime Emmy in 2002. Josh left daytime TV for his breakthrough role on the hit series Las Vegas which aired on NBC for five seasons. He recently starred in the comedy movie When in Rome with Kristin Bell!

Jerry Ferrara in Season Six of Entourage!


IMTA alumni Jerry Ferrara returns for the highly anticipated premiere of the sixth season of the HBO show Entourage! Tonight's episode is called "Drive" and according to HBO," Jerry Ferrara plays Turtle, the house manager, who's always up for a good time. " Jerry has received a nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series from the Screen Actors Guild and TV Chemistry from the Teen Choice Awards.
Jerry competed at IMTA in 2000 where he met and signed with an agent who encouraged him to move to L.A, where he landed the comedy King Of Queens. For more information about IMTA, please click here. Jerry was then cast in the independent feature Cross Bronx and then worked on Brooklyn Rules, Grounded for Life and Leap of Faith. Jerry was also a presenter at both the VMAs and the Emmys last year!!

IMTA's Lauren Storm in I Love You Beth Cooper!




Lauren Storm, who co-stars in I Love You Beth Cooper, competed at IMTA in New York in 1999! She describes her IMTA experience, saying, “I ended up getting a lot of response from theatrical agencies and was asked to relocate to L.A. for pilot season. I tried it out for 6 months and got my first job, so I stayed a little longer and booked again.”

In her latest feature film, Lauren plays Treece Kilmer, one of the best friends of the lead, Hayden Panettiere, who plays the title role of Beth Cooper. This film is directed by Chris Columbus and is based on the hilarious hit novel by former The Simpson's writer Larry Doyle. The film is about a High School Graduation speech given by a dorky senior. When he tells the whole class he is in love with the prettiest, most popular girl in the school, everyone laughs. However, when Beth Cooper ends up at his house, the story gets interesting and funny. The movie opens today in wide-release.

After Lauren competed at IMTA in New York she guest starred in many television shows such as: Grounded for Life, 7th Heaven with IMTA alum Jessica Biel, CSI:Miami, 24, Malcolm in the Middle and Boston Public. She is best known for her continuing role as Taylor Hagan in the NBC's Discovery Channel hit series Flight 29 Down, which also stars another IMTA alum Jeremey Kissner. Lauren played Cindy, the Nanny, in the Disney comedy The Game Plan. She has been busy with many new projects such as The Jerk Theory, Together Again for the First Time, The Inner Cirlce and Resurrection Mary.

IMTA alum Tiffany Thornton Twitters and Goes to Sea!




Ahoy Matey! There be Disney and IMTA stars ahead! IMTA alum Tiffany Thornton is on her way to Orlando for launch of the first-ever "Disney Channel Summer At Sea" on the Disney Cruise Line! According to the Disney official site: "Disney Channel teen sensations will pump-up-the-volume during onboard deck parties, join Guests for Q & A and autograph sessions, and provide sneak-peeks of upcoming Disney Channel shows and original movies. For one fabulous evening onboard each cruise, all the stars come together to rock out to a special musical performance by a Radio Disney star !" Another IMTA alum and Disney star Alyson Stoner (Camp Rock and Phineas and Ferb) will also set sail with the "Disney Channel Summer At Sea" cruise in August!

Alyson Stoner filming Step Up 3-D

Alyson Stoner, who competed at IMTA in 2000, has been in New York City filming “Step Up 3D” movie. Alyson has come back to IMTA to hand out awards at the conventions and give inspirational talks to the aspiring talent competing! The Step Up 3D story is about a group of young dancers training to try and win a "break dance showdown". This movie will be in 3-D, is shot entirely in New York City and has Alyson reprising her role from the last movie! This exciting dance flick and is expected to be released in a summer 2010 release.

Since competing at IMTA in 2000 Alyson has appeared in many major feature films including the Camp Rock, the Cheaper By The Dozen movies and Alice Upside Down! She currently does the voice over for Isabella on the hysterical Disney cartoon Phineas and Ferb! She co-hosted Mike's SuperShort Show from 2002-2006 on the Disney channel and played the recurring character Max in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. She recently produced The Alyson Stoner Project which is an original dance instructional and music fitness DVD! On Disney's latest DVD Space Buddies Alyson performs her fantastic remake of the hit 'Dancing in the Moonlight' as one of the DVD bonus features! It's Alyson's first music video and song and it's being heard nation-wide on Radio Disney!

Sean Harju and Tyson Ballou for D&G Men's Summer 2010 Collcetion!



Two IMTA grads are modeling for the fashion giant D&G's Summer 2010 collection ! Sean Harju IMTA 2000 and Tyson Balou IMTA 1996, are featured modeling the newest and hippest D&G fashion!!! The retro cowboy theme is the talk of the season and our IMTA grads walk the runway as professionals in these fabulous creations !!! Both models were discovered at IMTA and clearly have gone on to have hugely successful careers ad models !

Jessica and Eva on FHM's Top Hot List!





IMTA alums Jessica Biel and Eva Longoria are on the 15th annual top 100 Sexist women list again! This list is voted on by FHM readers. FHM's editor-in-chief Anthony Noguera said, "FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World delivers the original and most famous list of the planet's most beautiful women". Jessica Biel competed at IMTA in Los Angeles in 1994 where she won a scholarship to The Young Actor's Space and met her first manager and agent. Eva is an alum of the 1998 Los Angeles IMTA where she garnered 38 callbacks from agents and managers who wanted to represent her.
Jessica's latest project, an animated film called Planet 51, is due in theaters on November 20. She was also voted #11 on this year's Maxim 2009 Hot 100 List and is the new face of Revlon. She has starred in many major motion pictures such as I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, The Illusionist, Stealth, Elizabethtown, Home of the Brave, Powder Blue, Nailed and Next. Jessica is working on two new films Valentine's Day and The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.

Eva continues on her hit show Desperate Housewives. She plays Gabby Solis the spoiled and stunning housewife! Seann Willam Scott in Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Sean William Scott has reprised his role as the voice of Crash in Ice Age Dawn of the Dinasours in theaters now! This is the third installment of this animated comdey film about changes that are happening in pre-historic times. Some theaters will be showing the movie in 3-D! Crash, a furry, little creature is still trying to find his favorite food, an acorn. Seann competed at IMTA on 1995 and went on to star in his break-through role as Stifler in the hit comedy American Pie. One of his funniest roles was in the movie Dude, Where's my Car? which had him teaming up with a fellow IMTA alum Ashton Kutcher. Seann is now filming a new detective, action comedy film called A Couple of Dicks. It also stars Bruce Willis and Tracey Morgan as two policemen who are trying to catch a thief. Seann plays the bandit in this hilarious movie, directed by the Kevin Smith. His last feature film the hit comedy Role Models, was one of 2008's biggest box office successes!
