Gelena Solano is a reporter in New York City for the National Television show El Gordo Y La Flaca, currently airing on Univision Network. She anchors the news for Channel 38 in Hartford, Connecticut for Telemundo NBC and reports traffic for WADO 1280 AM and 105.9 FM Latino Mix. She was recently named "Duartiana Godmother” at the Dominican Festival and Parade in New Jersey. This honorary title is given in memory of Juan Pablo Durate, a founder of the Dominican Republic.Gelena competed at IMTA in Los Angeles in 1995.
