Elijah Wood in The Hobbit!

IMTA alum Elijah Wood has signed up to appear in The Hobbit! He is set to reprise his role as Frodo, a central character in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings books which the movie is based on. According to deadline:"Wood is confirmed to star in Peter Jackson’s “THE HOBBIT” to be shot in New Zealand. In addition, he has signed on to play “Ben Gunn” in Stewart Harcourt’s adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s TREASURE ISLAND along side Eddie Izzard. The 2 part/ 4 hour miniseries will be airing on SKY TV in the UK. Alan Moloney is producing with Steve Barron directing. Wood will next be seen this summer in FX’s new series “Wilfred”, as well as lending his voice to Warner Bros. “Happy Feet 2” set for release November 18th as well as Disney XD’s “Tron: Uprising” (2012), In addition, he is starring in the Sundance short “Fight for your Right Revisited” directed by Adam Yauch and starring John C. Reilly and Seth Rogen. "

Elijah got his start at IMTA in 1989 when he caught the eye of the famed superagent Al Onorato. He moved from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Los Angeles and booked his first roles in Paula Abdul's memorable video Straight Up and the feature film Back to the Future Part II. Elijah has starred films such as 9, Happy Feet, The Romantics with fellow IMTA alums Katie Holmes and Josh Duhamel, and over 40 feature films in his career and is one of Hollywood's (and IMTA's!) most-loved actors!
