Brittany Curran and Brock Ciarlelli Nominated for a Young Artist Award!



IMTA alum Brock Ciarlelli is nominated for an award for BEST PERFORMANCE IN A TV SERIES, Recurring Young Actor for his performance on the TV sereis The Middle. Brock plays the recurring role of Brad Bottig, the new love interest of one of main characters, Sue. Brock competed at IMTA in New York City where he won Winner of Best Monolgue! He is currently in post production on 2.0.


Brittany Curran is nominated for BEST SUPPORTING ROLE IN A TV SERIES COMEDY OR DRAMA for her performance in Men of a Certain Age! Brittany plays Lucy, the daughter of the lead character played by Ray Romano. The Award Ceremony will take place in Studio City, Ca. on Sunday March 13, 2011!

Other IMTA alums who have been won or been nominated for this prestigious award include: Sofia Vassilieva, who competed at IMTA in 2000. She won a Young Artists Awards for BEST PERFORMANCE IN A FEATURE FILM for Supporting Young Actress for her outstanding job as Kate Fitzgerald in the film My Sister's Keeper! Joseph Castanon (IMTA 2004) was nominated for BEST PERFORMANCE IN A SHORT FILM for a Young Actor in the film Santa's Little Helper where he portrayed Marlon; and Kayley Stallings (IMTA 2006) was nominated for BEST PERFORMANCE IN LIVE THEATER for her role in the play How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

Sofia Vassilieva on Medium Tonight!


Have you been watching Medium? IMTA alum Sofia Vassilieva's character, Ariel Dubois, is in an new episode tonight called How to Kill a Good Guy. This series is now in it's seventh season! The intriguing series is based on the real-life story of a psychic who uses her abilities to solve.

Sofia, who competed at IMTA in 2000, won a Young Artists Awards for BEST PERFORMANCE IN A FEATURE FILM for Supporting Young Actress for her outstanding job as Kate Fitzgerald in the film My Sister's Keeper! This film is a very touching and dramatic story about how one daughter finds out she was born as genetic match to keep her cancer-stricken older sister (played by Sofia) alive.

Sofia Vassilieva Supports Stand Up To Cancer!

IMTA alum Sofia Vassilieva will join several top celebrities for Stand Up to Cancer, a live telethon to raise money for cancer research. Sofia, who competed at IMTA in 2000, won a Young Artists Awards for BEST PERFORMANCE IN A FEATURE FILM for Supporting Young Actress for her outstanding job as Kate Fitzgerald in the film My Sister's Keeper! This film is a very touching and dramatic story about how one daughter finds out she was born as genetic match to keep her cancer-stricken older sister (played by Sofia) alive.

According to the Stand Up for Cancer Organization :"The Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) telecast will raise funds that will accelerate innovative cancer research. The live, one-hour fundraising event will be simulcast commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Current TV, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TV One and VH1 and hosted by network news anchors Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams. The broadcast will air in 195 countries, as well as on the Armed Forces Network....

IMTA Alum Winner Sofia Vassilieva!


Last night the Young Artists Awards were presented and an IMTA alum, Sofia Vassilieva,won an award! She won for BEST PERFORMANCE IN A FEATURE FILM for Supporting Young Actress for her outstanding job as Kate Fitzgerald in the film My Sister's Keeper! This heart-wrenching film won the Choice Summer Movie Drama Award! My Sister's Keeper is a very touching and dramatic story about how one daughter finds out she was born as genetic match to keep her cancer-stricken older sister (played by Sofia) alive.Sofia is very well known for her role as Ariel in hit show Medium which just wrapped up its sixth season in February! Sofia competed at IMTA in New York, where she won the title of Child Actress of the Year and she was the first runner-up for Child Model of the Year 2000! While competing Sofia garnered a lot of interest from the managers, agents and casting directors who were scouting at the Convention.

Vote for IMTA's Joseph Castanon, Kayley Stallings and Sofia Vassilieva!

Vote for IMTA alums Kayley Stallings, Joseph Castanon and Sofia Vassilieva for a Young Artist Awards. These awards are given once a year and are are like Oscars for children! You can vote up to April 10, then the vote will be tabulated. The official award ceremony will be at the Gala event scheduled to take place on Sunday April 11, 2010 at the Beverly Garland in Studio City, California. Joseph is nominated in the BEST PERFORMANCE IN A SHORT FILM for a Young Actor in the film Santa's Little Helper where he portrayed Marlon. He competed at IMTA in 2004 and he recently wrapped Nic and Tristan Go Mega Dega. His movie Happiness Runs is opening in limited release May 7, 2010!

Kayley is nominated for BEST PERFORMANCE IN LIVE THEATER in the play How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Kayley, who competed at IMTA in 2006, starred as the adorable Cindy-Lou Who in the play. Kayley recently booked the film The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation!

Sofia Vassilieva is nominated for BEST PERFORMANCE IN A FEATURE FILM for a Supporting Young Actress. She competed at IMTA in 2000 and is nominated for her role in My Sister's Keeper. Sofia can be seen as Ariel Dubois in the popular TV show Medium!

Sofia Vassilieva in Stand Up To Cancer Campaign

Sofia was been nominated by the Charitable organization Stand Up To Cancer as one of their celebrity ambassadors! The ambassadors work together with a team to increase awareness and raise funds for cancer research.

My Sister's Keeper starring Sofia Vassilieva IMTA 2000, is now out on DVD! This heart wrenching film won the Choice Summer Movie Drama Award! My Sister's Keeper is a very touching and dramatic story about how one daughter finds out she was born as genetic match to keep her cancer stricken older sister (played by Sofia) alive. It is truly a heart-wrenching story which highlights how the moral and ethical decisions these parents made effected their two daughters. IMTA and the Teen Choice Awards - And The Winners Are....


The Teen Choice Awards were full of nominated projects that starred IMTA Alumni! For a complete list of all the IMTA nominees, please see THAT IMTA BLOG'S coverage from Sunday! Monday night on Fox, the winners were announced and here are the IMTA alums who won!


My Sister’s Keeper won the Choice Summer Movie Drama Award! It stars Sofia Vassilieva as the ailing sister Kate Fitzgerald. Sofia competed at IMTA in New York, where she won the title of Child Actress of the Year and she was the first runner-up for Child Model of the Year 2000! While competing at IMTA, Sofia garnered a lot of interest from the managers, agents and casting directors who were scouting at the Convention. If you are interested in IMTA, please click here! Sofia signed with a manager and went on to star in many films such as Eloise at the Plaza, The Brady Bunch in the White House, Inhabited, Hurt, and Day Zero. This is not Sofia's first major award! Sofia also won a Best Supporting Young Artist Award in 2006 for Best Performance in a TV Drama for her work on the television series Medium!

The Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Bromatic Comedy went to Marley & Me! IMTA alum Haley Bennett plays Lisa in the feature film and shares a very dramatic scene with Owen Wilson. Haley competed at IMTA in 2001 where she wowed the agents and managers who were at IMTA scouting for new talent. Her first big movie was Music and Lyrics where she acted and sang! Haley is in post-production on a new film called Arcadia Lost. She is currently working on a new thriller called The Hole where she portrays the character Julie Campbell. This scary movie is due out in 2010!
The Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Show Comedy went to Hannah Montana! IMTA alum Moises Arias plays Rico in the hit Disney ensemble sitcom. Moises competed at IMTA in Los Angeles in 2005 with his brother Mateo. Shortly after IMTA, Moises got his break with appearances on Everybody Hates Chris and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody before landing the role of Rico on the hit show Hannah Montana! He made his feature film debut in 2006 starring in Nacho Libre opposite Jack Black. He competed at the 2008 Disney Channel Games with fellow IMTA alumni, Alyson Stoner and Kunal Sharma. He also starred in the film Hannah Montana The Movie, The Perfect Game, Beethoven's Big Break and Dadnapped! Moises recently guest-starred on an episode of The Wizards of Waverly Place that will air this Fall!

Sofia Vassilieva's show Medium will change networks from NBC to CBS this Fall! This spooky drama will move to CBS' primetime lineup for Fridays when it changes networks and begins its sixth season. The show is an intriguing series based on a real-life story of a psychic who uses her abilities to solve crimes.

IMTA alumni and the Primetime Emmy Awards!

Tune in tonight to see the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards. Seven IMTA alumni shows have received Emmy nominations Emmy Awards. The Emmy awards recognize excellence within various areas of the TV industry. The awards are a symbol of peer recognition from over 15,000 members of the Academy. Each Member casts a ballot for the category of competition in their field of expertise. The Primetime Emmy Awards celebrate excellence in national primetime programming, awarding top honors at the annual creative arts gala and primetime awards telecast.

IMTA alumni Jerry Ferrara and Adrianne Palicki's shows received Emmy nominations. Jerry's show Entourage is up for a nomination for outstanding comedy series category. Adrianne's hit show Friday Night Lights is up for a nomination for outstanding drama series. Alyson Stoner has two show ups for nominations: the summer sensation and Disney hit Camp Rock and the animated Disney series Phineas and Ferb. Sofia Vassilieva's drama series Medium received a Emmy nomination. Dominic Janes' Showtime original series Dexter is nominated for five Emmy Awards, including a nomination for best drama series! The hit game show Deal or No Deal is nominated for an Emmy. Keltie Martin is one of the Deal or No Deal models. She is the model for Case number 4. The mini-series Comanche Moon received 5 Emmy nominations! IMTA alum Joseph Castanon played Newt in the dramatic western.

Sofia Vassilieva is currently shooting a film called My Sister’s Keeper. This is a very touching and dramatic story about how one daughter finds out she was born to help keep her older gravely ill sister alive and is based on a true story from Jodi Piccoult's novel My Sister's Keeper. It is truly a heart wrenching story which highlights the many obstacles families encounter. Sofia Vassilieva in Medium Tonight!

IMTA alum Sofia Vassilieva is starring in a new episode of the hit NBC series Medium Tonight. This is the fourth season of the intriguing series based on a real-life story and tonight's episode is called Burn Baby Burn, Sofia plays Ariel Dubois, the daughter of the main character, Allison (Patricia Arquette). This episode is an exciting two parter with the second installment airing March 17.

She went on to star in many films such as Eloise at the Plaza, The Brady Bunch in the White House, the psychological thriller Inhabited and Day Zero. Sofia Vassilieva in the Season Premiere of Medium!

IMTA alum Sofia Vassilieva is starring in the season premiere of her hit NBC series Medium on January 7th! This is the start of the fourth season of the intriguing series based on a real-life story and fans have been clamoring for its much-awaited return! Sofia plays Ariel Dubois, the daughter of the main character, Allison (Patricia Arquette). This season will feature Allison and her family as their world is turned upside down after her psychic abilities are tested.

IMTA Stars' DVD as Stocking Stuffers!

Over the past year IMTA alums have participated in an extensive array of fabulous projects. We wanted to give you some shopping ideas-These DVDs make great stocking stuffers! Here are some suggestions of IMTA alum's movies or television shows now out on DVD:


Sofia Vassilieva was discovered at IMTA in New York where she won the title of Child Actress and first runner-up Child Model Of The Year 2000. She currently stars in Medium where she plays Ariel Dubois, the oldest of three girls whose mother is psychic and uses this ability to solve murders. The third season was just released in October.


Wild Hogs was a huge box office hit and starred IMTA alum Dominic Janes, which was recently released on DVD. He competed at IMTA in 2004 and is currently starring in the television show Out of Jimmy's Head on Cartoon Network and will be on ER tonight!


Enjoy the third season of Desperate Housewives all over again! Star Eva Longoria competed at IMTA in 1998. She has become an A-list celebrity playing Gabby on ABC's award-winning hit television show.


Adrianne Palicki in her fabulous role as Tyra in Friday Night Lights. The first season is out on DVD now. This popular show has received a lot of attention from fans and critics alike- everyone agrees it's a hit! Adrianne competed at IMTA in New York City in 2003 and was signed by an agent and has gone to hone her talents and become the must see star of Friday Night TV!

Jerry Ferrara is starring as Turtle in the hit HBO Series Entourage! They are currently filming the fourth season. Jerry competed at IMTA in 2000 where he met a talent manager who encouraged him to move to L.A. Season Three, Part Two has recently been released. It's sure to make a great stocking stuffer for anyone on your list!

Jessica competed at IMTA in 1994 where she signed with an agent and manager who helped her land the breakthrough role of Mary Camden on the popular WB series 7th Heaven.The fifth season of this very popular show is now out on DVD. She has gone on to star in many major motion pictures such as, Next, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry which were both been released this year on DVD.

Mega star and IMTA alum Josh Duhamel, competed in IMTA in 1997. Just in this year he has two huge projects available for purchase on DVD this season. He starred in Transformers: The Movie which was the 2007 summer movie of the year! This exciting action-packed movie has Josh playing the part of Captain John Lennox as he helped save the world. Josh's day job is to play the hip casino detective in the hit show Las Vegas, which released its 4th season this year.

IMTA alum Agnes Bruckner's Sony Pictures/MGM feature film is now out on DVD. This horror movie Blood & Chocolate is based on the best-selling young adult novel of the same name by Annette Curtis Klause. Agnes plays Vivian, a werewolf who falls in love...with a regular boy! Before all of this success, she competed at IMTA in 1995 and won Child Model of the Year!

Elijah competed at IMTA in 1989 and provides the voice over for the main character Mumble of the animated sensation Happy Feet, which you can now buy on DVD. This film has won accolades from audiences worldwide and earned an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and a Golden Globe for Best Original Song.


IMTA alum Regine Nehy stars as Jacquie in the MTV film Super Sweet Sixteen: The Movie. She also starred in the the film Pride about a swim team overcoming numerous obstacles to become state championship which you can also purchase on DVD! At IMTA, she signed with Dino May Management and Kazarian/Spencer & Associates, who have helped her become the successful actress she is today!

Brooke Burns has a new comedy film out this year, The Salon which is a sassy and heart-warming film for the entire family and Brooke plays a character named Tami. Brooke competed at IMTA in 1994 and has been a working actress and game show host for the show Dog Eat Dog ever since!

Brittany Curran another very talented IMTA alum starred in 13 Going on 30 also available on DVD. This fun-filled movie is about a young girl who after being embarrassed at her 13th birthday wishes she could hide until she is 30 and her wish comes true. While at IMTA, Brittany signed with Diane Hardin and Judy Savage.

Fox/MGM Home Entertainment has just released The Initiation Of Sarah which stars Mika Boorem on DVD. In this horror flick, Mika plays college student Sarah Goodman who uses her magical powers against a dark evil that a group of sorority sisters are using against her "good" sorority. Since attending IMTA in New York in 1994, Mika has guest-starred on various television shows including The Drew Carey Show, Ally McBeal, Touched By An Angel, and Dawson's Creek which starred another IMTA alum Katie Holmes. She has received two nominations for a Young Artist Award for her roles.
